Fibronaut At Home

on September 2, 2012

I have been trying to go to bed early, to see if the two amitriptyline will allow me to go to bed earlier than one o’clock in the morning. I’ve managed to go to bed earlier a couple nights, but just end up waking in the way-too-early hours of the morning like I used to do. Tonight was the last straw. I laid down at 10 pm and tossed and turned until midnight. So now I’m typing this and my arms are screaming and everyone in the house is asleep except for me. At least I know the answer to the question that’s been bugging me lately, “Could it be as easy as getting into a sleep schedule?” No. Nothing with fibromyalgia is easy. Duh!

I totally relate with you on this too, but I’ve kind of got over it. Lying awake at 1am, 2am, 3am, I used berate myself for not sleeping. Now I try not to stress over it, and I seem to be able to get to sleep.

Have you heard of the Sound Asleep pillow? It’s a pillow that has speakers inside it (you don’t feel them when you lie down). Only you hear what’s being played, so it won’t disturb your husband. You could maybe get one and listen to your relaxation cd’s. This is one type on Amazon, but shop around, and you might find a cheaper one

I have problems sleeping too. I fall asleep pretty easily but I can’t stay asleep. The pain wakes me up. One night last week I woke up every hour. I didn’t get any rest and was a zombie at work the next day. It’s taking more meds to put me to sleep. Time to ask my Dr for something stronger I guess. I have learned that stressing about not sleeping only makes the problem worse.

I’ve noticed that too. Posting this helped, but I also played a brainless game on the laptop till I fell asleep. I don’t like to fall asleep on the couch like that, but I guess I have to take what I can get. I thought bumping up the amitriptyline would help me fall asleep faster, but I guess not.

Keep it positive...
